Are you considering Beverly Hills Facelift Surgery?

If you are considering Beverly Hills Facelift Surgery and wondering how it might improve your looks and self-confidence, it’s important that you understand how the facelift surgery procedure is performed and what you can expect. We’ve all seen friends, family and the celebrities who have had a face lift that looked pulled and unnatural. Often times, people look windswept and almost unrecognizable. Here at Beverly Hills PROFILES, we have the top Board Certified Los Angeles and Beverly Hills Facelift Surgeons and Specialists who take every care in planning your facelift surgery in order to preserve your natural features while making you look younger and more vibrant.

If you've already started your homework about face lift surgery, you've probably heard a lot of talk about the minimally-invasive facelift procedures whether its the Mini Face Lift, Thread lift, Contour lift, Feather lift, Lunchtime lift, Executive lift, and the list goes on and on. If you're thinking about one of these face Lift procedures, we don't want to scare you but these lifts are all variations on a face lift procedure that was originally popularized many years ago known as a "tuck-up". While a Mini Face Lift may be right for you, at PROFILES, unlike Cosmetic Surgery centers dedicated to one particular face lift surgery procedure, we move away from one-size-fits-all cosmetic plastic surgery and customize your facelift treatment to best suit your goals!

Are you ready for a Beverly Hills Face Lift?

Los Angeles Facelift - Beverly Hills Profiles We see countless Beverly Hills and Los Angeles Facelift patients in their late 40’s and 50’s who want to rejuvenate their looks. Botox and facial fillers have worked well for them, but they’re starting to think about the next step in improving the heavier folds and sagging skin around the mouth, along the jaw line, and in the neck.

Many are understandably uneasy about the prospects of facelift surgery. We hear these misgivings all the time. “I’m not old enough for a full facelift. I want to look refreshed, younger, better….not different”. The tightly-pulled windswept Hollywood facelift is what everyone fears. They don’t want to lose themselves or to look ridiculous. Plus, many are worried about the downtime and the potential scarring. Who has a month to recover these days?

So, in the last few years, people have been turning more to a Mini Face Lift, which is a face lift that lifts a small amount of skin through a smaller incision, often under local anesthesia. You might be a good candidate for a Mini Face Lift if you have early signs of aging and would be content with a subtle improvement. But, too often it is being done for the wrong patients who have more advanced aging, leading to disappointing results.

So, what can be done when you’re "in between", when you want a great, natural look that lasts but you’re not ready for a full facelift? That’s where the Hybrid Lift™ fits in …

Above is a diagram representing what is done in a traditional facelift. The black lines indicate the incisions of the face lift traveling from the temple around the ear and into the hairline behind the ear. The blue shaded areas show the area of skin that is lifted along the jaw line and in the neck. The deeper tissues of the face (called the SMAS) may be tightened also. The neck is tightened through a separate procedure called a platysmaplasty. The diagram on the right shows the improved neck and jaw line, but notice how the folds around the mouth and the hollowing under the eyes are not improved. Check out our signature Hybrid Lift™ to see how we address these shortcomings.

Profiles Beverly Hills Mini Face Lift Surgery Candidates

You may be a good candidate for a Mini Face Lift if you:

Are relatively younger with good skin elasticity and early signs of aging. Have cosmetic concerns largely limited to the jowl and jaw line. Would be happy enough with a reasonable, as opposed to optimal, cosmetic improvement. Have significant time restrictions or are extremely risk-averse. Have medical problems that would prohibit general anesthesia or a full facelift procedure. Are older but have residual or new cosmetic concerns after a previous facelift.

The real benefits of a Mini Face Lift include:

A Mini Face Lift procedure is shorter in duration than a traditional facelift

  • It is offered and can usually be done under local anesthesia with or without sedation
  • It has potentially fewer risks
  • It causes less tissue trauma resulting in a more rapid recovery
  • Because it can be accomplished more quickly, the fees are usually a fraction of a traditional facelift

Above you can see what is done during Mini Face Lift surgery. These are often called S-lifts or J-lifts because of the shape of the incision shown in black. Unlike the traditional face lift, the incision is shorter and stops just behind the ear lobe. The amount of skin lifted shown in blue is also far less and the neck is not addressed. You can see that the jowl is improved in the diagram on the right so this lift works well for someone with early aging changes in the lower face. For a heavier neck, deeper folds around the mouth, and under eye hollowing, read more about our Hybrid Lift™ to see what a difference it can make.

Facelift Surgery Anesthesia

Here at PROFILES we utilize only board certified anesthesiologists for all our surgeries. However, the extent of your face lift surgery procedure and your preference can also help to determine the type of anesthesia used.

The Profiles Beverly Hills Facelift Surgery Procedure

The PROFILES Beverly Hills Facelift surgery is uniquely tailored to take into consideration your individual characteristics and goals. While there are many advertisements about so called lunch time face lifts and thread lifts, at Beverly Hills PROFILES we utilize the most modern multilayered facelift procedures that will give you long lasting natural results.

At Beverly Hills PROFILES, we are meticulous in planning every step of your facelift surgery. We individually tailor your face lift surgery to account for your hairline both in front and behind your ears, and hide all of your incisions within your natural creases in order to maximally conceal them. We will discuss the state-of-the-art face lift techniques that our Face Lift Surgeons will use and discuss which face lift procedure will best accomplish your unique goals.

After Your Profiles Beverly Hills Facelift Surgery

Beverly Hills & Los Angeles FaceliftAfter your Facelift surgery, we will have planned for you to stay at one of our Los Angeles or Beverly Hills affiliated after care facilities. All of our face lift patients are attended by a warm and caring nurse who will provide for your needs during that first night.

Most face lift patients describe feeling tight and somewhat uncomfortable the night of surgery but rarely is pain an issue. You will be provided with pain medications should you need them both during the first night and, if ever necessary, for the days that follow.

The postoperative dressing will be removed on the morning after facelift surgery and will be replaced with a lighter dressing that will be worn for the next day. The following day (postoperative day 2) we will see you in our office, your dressings will be removed and we will personally wash your hair and clean all incisions.

You will be given specific instructions for gradually returning to your normal activities. In general, you will need to avoid strenuous activities, including sex and heavy housework, for a minimum of two weeks after your facelift surgery.

Because we care about your immediate comfort and long term results, we schedule all of your follow-up appointments when you schedule your face lift surgery. And we are so committed to your long term results and happiness that we will do our best to follow your postoperative course even years after your surgery.

However, when considering a Mini Face Lift you should also expect:

  • The improvements are less than a traditional facelift
  • The improvements may be shorter-lasting
  • There is still potential for complications

So, the final word is that, for the right patient with clear expectations of what can be achieved, the Mini Face Lift has the potential to be a highly satisfying procedure. If this is you, or may be you, we at Profiles welcome you to come in and experience the difference.

Aging of the face is inevitable. We all see the effects of gravity, sun exposure, and daily stresses as the months and years pass. A facelift, also known as Rhytidectomy, cannot stop the aging process, but when done well, it can set back the clock by tightening the underlying muscles, removing excess fat, removing the most visible sign of aging, and the redundant wrinkled face and neck skin.

As the years pass the skin of the face and neck gradually loosens, allowing crow’s feet (wrinkles around the eyes) to form and deep creases to form between the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds). Fine lines develop on the forehead which then settle into creases and eventually deeper folds. The jaw line slackens and forms jowls, while the neck acquires folds and fat deposits. It’s no wonder that the facelift has become the third most popular facial plastic surgery procedure, particularly as the aging population grows.

If you’re considering a facelift and wondering how it might improve your looks and self-confidence, it’s important that you understand how the procedure is performed and what you can expect. We’ve all seen friends, family and the celebrities who have had facelifts that looked pulled and unnatural. Often times, people look windswept and almost unrecognizable. Here at PROFILES, we take every care in planning your surgery in order to preserve your natural features while making you look younger and more vibrant.

The following information is provided to give you a basic understanding of the Profiles Facelift, including how it can help you, how it is performed, and what you can expect. Because much of facial plastic surgery is dependent upon your individual characteristics, a personal Profiles Consultation is the best way to have all of your questions about the Profiles Facelift answered and your specific needs addressed.

Profiles Beverly Hills Facelift Candidates

A Facelift can improve your self-confidence and provide you a more youthful, refreshed appearance.

In general, we have found that men and women who have some elasticity in their skin and a strong, well-defined bone structure are the best candidates for a facelift. Other factors that we will take into consideration during your consultation include your skin type, your individual healing, your ethnic background, and your smoking history.

While the majority of our facelift surgery patients range in age from their forties to their sixties, facelift surgery is successfully performed at Beverly Hills PROFILES on patients well into their seventies and eighties.

As you decide to undergo a Profiles Facelift, you can also ask your Facelift Surgeons if there are any additional procedures that they would recommend to enhance your facial appearance to achieve your desired appearance.

Planning Your Profiles Beverly Hills Facelift

Your Profiles Beverly Hills Facelift is a very individualized procedure. At PROFILES, we utilize modern and time proven techniques which we know will last long term and allow you to achieve the goals you're seeking. During your personal Profiles Face Lift Consultation, we will evaluate your face, skin, and underlying bone structure. Photographs will be taken so your doctors can further study your face and utilizing state of the art computer imaging systems we will show you what we can achieve. Moreover, we welcome you to discuss the pros and cons of other procedures you may have heard about including the various lunch time or thread lifts, lasers and radio frequency modalities.

Preparing For a Full Facelift or Mini Face Lift Surgery at PROFILES Surgery Center

Prior to your Facelift surgery at Beverly Hills PROFILES, you will be given specific instructions on preparing for your surgery including guidelines for eating and drinking, vitamin and medication intake, and smoking. We will also discuss with you the various after hour care centers or private nurses available to you for your first postoperative night.

We admonish all our smokers that they must stop smoking for at least two weeks before and after surgery because smoking can interfere with the healing of incisions and inhibit blood flow to the skin. Also if you have short hair, we encourage you to grow your hair out prior to surgery, and even prior to your consultation so as to better help conceal the incisions post-operatively as they heal on their way to becoming inconspicuous.
